Choosing a Siding Contactor:
- Determine that the siding contractor is licensed and has insurance.
- Get references from past customers of any siding contractor and be sure to check them.
- Make sure the siding contractor presents a contract that includes hauling away any old material and scrap and provides for complete site cleanup after the job is finished.
- Make sure that you'll receive both a product warranty from the manufacturer and an installation warranty from the siding contractor covering workmanship.
- Decide in advanced how the siding contractor will trim around windows and doors and how corners will be finished. Ask to see your options.
- Ask for specific maintenance instructions to keep your siding and windows looking like new.
- Be sure you know who to call if there is ever a problem with your siding or its installation.
- Ask for third party certifications of product quality, such as the Good Housekeeping Seal, the Underwriters Laboratories logo, and the NFRC logo.
- Call the Better Business Bureau to find out if there have been any complaints about the siding contractor you're intested in.
- Be sure that the siding contractor has an actual, physical place of business.
- Call the siding contractor and find out how many years they have been in business.
